DAD WAS RIGHT

Father's Day

Our father: an unbiased report

He has never once read an instruction manual, and yet the almirah stands. He can fix anything with cello tape, a butter knife and confidence. He drove us to every tuition, waited outside every exam hall with a Frooti, and pretended not to cry at every farewell. He still switches off the fan in rooms we are sitting in. His jokes are terrible. His heart is enormous. The editorial board would not change a thing. Except the jokes.

What do you call a fake noodle?

An impasta.

Today's cartoon. He has been saving that one since 1998.

Letters to the editor

Dear Papa,

Thank you for the 5 am lifts to the station

Sorry about the car. (It was us.)

You were right about most things. It took us a few years to notice. Thank you for every 'drive slowly'. We love you.
